Ferreira inaugurates footpath repair work at Calvim

MAPUSA:Aldona MLA Adv Carlos Alvares Ferreira on Wednesday inaugurated the repairs of a lane (footpath access) in Calvim that was washed out during the monsoon.The footpath from Abi Mendes House to Ana Maria House and surrounding areas in ward no. 9 in Village Panchayat Aldona under Aldona Constituency is being taken up under the MLA-LAD scheme.The work order has been sanctioned for Rs 19.4 lakhs, and the time allowed for completion is 90 days.Ferreira said that the road work was a necessity as people were facing problems.“Another five roads will also be taken up worth Rs 24 lakhs under the MLA-LAD scheme. We hope to finish these road words with the support of the people. I thank all the engineers as well as the Chief Minister who was holding the PWD portfolio when he passed the file,” Ferreira said.
