Poriem, Goa: The housekeeping staff at the Goa Institute of Management (GIM) have called off their strike and resumed their duties following the swift and timely intervention of MLA Dr. Deviya Rane.
The housekeeping staff had resorted to a strike on 23 September 2026, following the suspension of five employees for a period of 15 days. The staff had demanded the reinstatement of all five suspended employees and the transfer of the supervisor, citing concerns regarding the supervisor’s conduct.
Taking immediate cognisance of the matter, MLA Dr. Deviya Rane intervened and took up the concerns of the housekeeping staff with the concerned authorities.
The matter was resolved within no time, with the demands raised by the staff being addressed following the intervention of Dr. Deviya Rane. The five suspended employees were reinstated, and the concern regarding the supervisor was also addressed.
Following the resolution, the housekeeping staff called off their strike and resumed their duties, bringing normalcy back to the GIM campus.
The swift resolution highlights Dr. Deviya Rane’s prompt approach towards addressing concerns raised by workers and people in the constituency, ensuring that genuine issues are taken up and resolved through immediate intervention and actions.
