PANAJI: The Election Commission of India has announced the schedule for the Special Summary Revision (SSR) of Goa’s Photo Electoral Rolls, with January 1, 2027, as the qualifying date.
The exercise will focus on updating voter records, rationalising polling stations and improving accessibility for voters. Authorities will assess the need for additional polling stations based on the prescribed limit of 1,200 electors per station and aim to ensure voters do not have to travel more than two kilometres to cast their votes.
A meeting with recognised political parties is scheduled for October 23 at 12 noon to discuss the revision process.
