Goa Congress Seeks Action Against Carlos Ferreira for 'Anti-Party' Activities**

The Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) has written to the All India Congress Committee (AICC) demanding urgent disciplinary action against Aldona MLA Carlos Ferreira for alleged anti-party activities. In a strongly worded letter, GPCC President Amit Patkar said Ferreira’s repeated actions were “distressing and demoralising” for Congress workers and supporters. The latest trigger was Ferreira’s appearance at the birthday celebration of former BJP minister Nilesh Cabral on July 10, despite having skipped a Congress-led event held in the same constituency.Patkar also flagged Ferreira’s continued presence at BJP and government functions, calling it a “pattern of anti-party conduct.” The GPCC has now urged the AICC in-charge of Goa, Manikrao Thakare, and AICC Secretary Anjali Nimbalkar to take strict disciplinary measures.“This is not an isolated incident. It reflects a consistent disregard for party values and discipline,” Patkar stated, referring to a similar complaint submitted in December 2023.Reacting to the development, Manikrao Thakare confirmed receiving the complaint and said, “I have got the letter but haven’t gone through it in detail yet. I will decide on its merits after reviewing it.”The development comes at a sensitive time, with the monsoon session of the Goa Assembly approaching and growing concerns over lack of coordination between Congress and alliance partner Goa Forward Party in taking on the BJP.The party’s call for action underscores internal rifts and highlights ongoing challenges in maintaining opposition unity in the state....#Goa #GoaNews #Congress #AmitPatkar #CarlosFerreira
