Goa Govt Hikes Freedom Fighters’ Pension to ₹12,000; Official Honours at Last Rites Announced

📍 Mantralaya, PorvorimHon'ble Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant chaired a meeting of the Freedom Fighters Welfare Committee and held detailed deliberations on matters concerning the welfare, dignity and rightful entitlements of our freedom fighters and their families.HCM said that in a significant step, the monthly Freedom Fighters’ Pension has been enhanced from ₹9,000 to ₹12,000, and Allowance increased from 3,000 to 5,000, reaffirming our commitment to their well-being.HCM informed that it was also decided that, as a mark of honour and respect, a Deputy Collector and a DySP will attend the last rites of deceased freedom fighters and lay a wreath on behalf of the Government.HCM assured the Committee that all genuine concerns will be addressed with sensitivity and priority, in close coordination with concerned departments, to uphold the dignity and legacy of our freedom fighters and ensure they receive their rightful benefits.
