A fact-finding committee at Goa University is investigating allegations of misconduct against a professor, who has been temporarily suspended following a police complaint. The committee’s report is expected to be submitted within 48 hours, after which the executive committee will make a decision based on its findings.¹The allegations against the professor include unauthorized entry into another professor’s room to take chemicals for their own research project. Although the incident was verbally reported in September, no official complaint was filed until recently.Vice Chancellor Harilal Menon has assured that the university is taking the matter seriously and will take appropriate action once the fact-finding committee’s report is submitted. The university’s guidelines on academic ethics emphasize responsible behavior and adherence to rules and regulations.²
