Goa Pradesh Youth Congress Committee (GPYCC) General Secretary Saeesh Umesh Aroskar has written to the Chief Engineer of the Electricity Department, urging the deployment of additional staff during night shifts at the Neura Electricity Sub-Station in St Andre constituency.
In his letter, Aroskar highlighted that the sub-station is currently facing a shortage of night staff, resulting in delays in restoring power during outages, particularly in the monsoon season when power failures and equipment faults are more frequent. He said the delays cause inconvenience to residents and raise public safety concerns.
Aroskar further stated that only one staff member is reportedly deployed during the night, which is insufficient to cater to seven wards in the area. He has requested the department to urgently strengthen night staffing arrangements to ensure timely restoration of electricity and improve public service.
