HC Questions Delay in FIR in Pandurang Madkaikar Corruption Case; Final Hearing on March 23

Panaji: The High Court has questioned why an FIR was not registered in the alleged corruption case involving former minister Pandurang Madkaikar. The court has directed the state to file a compilation of related cases and has posted the matter for final hearing on March 23.The case stems from allegations by Madkaikar that he had paid money to clear his file. Following this, Kashinath Shetye approached the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) seeking registration of a corruption case. After the ACB allegedly failed to file an FIR, Shetye moved the Sessions Court, which directed the ACB to register a case. The ACB subsequently challenged the Sessions Court’s order before the High Court.
