In Shocking incident 19 month old child ( female) was killed by stray dog attack at Tolle Durgabhat today early morning.

PONDA:In Shocking incident 19 month old child ( female) was killed by stray dog attack at Tolle Durgabhat today early morning.Severely injured in dog bite child died on spot. She was shifted to subdistrict hospital. While the family members were inside home, The child playing infront of gate of house was dragged by gang of dogs ten to twelve meter away and was killed in bites.

The incident shocked ponda locals.

PMC Chairperson Anand Naik express express grief over sad death of child. He said PMC is regularly taking sterilization with help of NGO people for Animal, however dogs carried for sterilization are brought and dropped at same place from where they were lifted. He said some people feeds dog and incase they do not get food becomes agressive and attacks. He said PMC has urged Animal Husbandry Department to provide space near Goa Dairy for dog shelter. He also urged people not to dump food and garbage waste at roadside .

Rajesh Naik said the child is basically from Usgao and her family resides at Shapur Ponda. The child had came to stay at her grandmother's house at Tolle Durgabhat. Today morning her Uncle early morning left house 7.30 am,the child followed him and came to gate of house and after playing for while infront of house the stray dogs ,dragged and attacked her. He said this is tragic incident and now govt need to find permanent solution so that no other child face such incidents.

Viraj Sapre said our CM often says no need to fear, but today Bhivpanchi Garaj Asaa. Few months ago wild bison killed at neighbouring Bond Baag village and today stray dog killed child. It was only baby for family which was born after seven years of marriage. Viraj said like stray cattles there is urgent need to erect dog shed. He said in every colony and ward stray dog population increased , they chases and jumps on bikers. There is risk of lives to people from hungry dogs.
