New Delhi, May 9, 2025 — The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has officially suspended the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season following a sudden and sharp escalation in military tensions between India and Pakistan. The tensions were triggered by the devastating terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22.The announcement came a day after the match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals was abandoned midway in Dharamsala due to emergency air raid alerts issued in the neighboring regions of Jammu and Pathankot.
