Man Booked for Posting Objectionable Content Targeting Hindu Deities in Mapusa.

MAPUSA: Mapusa Police have registered an offence against a man for allegedly posting and circulating vulgar and derogatory content on social media targeting Hindu deities, with intent to outrage religious sentiments.According to a complaint filed by Ms. Nisha Vernekar of Goenchi Nari Shakti, Mapusa, the incident occurred on April 22, 2026, in Mapusa, Bardez. The accused, identified as Babit Fernandes, allegedly shared objectionable content on social media platforms aimed at hurting the religious feelings of the complainant and members of the Hindu community.Police said the content was also intended to promote enmity and hatred between different communities.The offence was registered on April 23 at 5:48 PM, and further investigation is being carried out by PSI Ajay Dhuri.
