PANAJI: Former Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) president Manoj Parab has questioned the BJP and Congress leadership in Goa over what he described as a lack of assertiveness in protecting the state’s Mhadei water rights.
In a social media post, Parab alleged that leaders from both parties were prioritising loyalty to their national leadership over Goa’s interests. He questioned why they were not firmly raising the Mhadei issue with their respective party high commands in Delhi.
Parab also challenged the parties’ claims of protecting Goa’s land and environment, stressing the importance of safeguarding the state’s water resources.
His remarks have once again brought the Mhadei water dispute into the political spotlight, raising questions about accountability and the role of Goa’s elected representatives in defending the state’s water security and ecological interests.
