Rahul Gandhi’s vision Vindicated on GST, BJP exposed after 9 years of Hypocrisy : Slams Amit Patkar*

Panjim;Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Shri Amit Patkar today strongly condemned the BJP government’s belated acceptance of Rahul Gandhi’s long-standing call for an 18% cap on GST.“Rahul Gandhi was absolutely right in 2016 when he demanded an 18% cap on GST. The BJP mocked him, ridiculed him, and dismissed his vision. For nine long years, the people of India have suffered under the crushing burden of BJP’s arrogance and flawed GST regime. Now, after looting the common man and damaging India’s economy, the BJP has quietly accepted the same proposal it once opposed. This is nothing but hypocrisy of the highest order,” said Shri Amit Patkar. He further added: “This U-turn by the BJP is not an act of reform but an admission of guilt. It is proof that Rahul Gandhi’s foresight and concern for the common man were correct all along. BJP’s misplaced pride has cost every household, every small trader, and every entrepreneur dearly for nearly a decade. Indians have paid the price of BJP’s arrogance.”The GPCC President underlined that the Congress Party has always stood for a fair, transparent, and people-centric GST regime. “Better sense has finally prevailed, but it is too little, too late. The damage is done. The nation will not forget how BJP played politics with the economy and people’s livelihoods,” Shri Patkar said.Shri Amit Patkar reaffirmed that the Congress Party will continue to fight for policies that ease the burden on the common man and ensure India’s economy works for all, not just for a select few.Issued by:*Goa Pradesh Congress Committee*
