PORVORIM: The Revolutionary Goans Party (RGP) has begun preparations for the 2027 Goa Assembly elections, with alliance possibilities, Section 39A of the Goa Town & Country Planning Act and organisational expansion featuring prominently at its meeting in Alto Porvorim.
During the organisational meeting held on Sunday, party members discussed the possibility of a political alliance, stating that any decision would be based on Goa's interests, the party's ideology and political clarity. The leadership will continue consultations before taking a final call.
The party also discussed the implications of Section 39A, emphasising the need to create public awareness and protect Goa's land, environment and natural resources.
Strengthening the party at the grassroots level, expanding membership and improving constituency-level organisation were among the other key priorities.
Several issues affecting Goa, including unemployment, tourism, water supply, electricity, environmental protection and governance, were also discussed.
RGP further outlined its vision for forming the next government, focusing on improving Goa's financial position, addressing liabilities, strengthening governance and providing better opportunities and facilities to Goans.
With the 2027 Assembly elections approaching, the party resolved to build a united and election-ready organisation across all constituencies.
