Three Held for Illegal Betting During IPL Match in Calangute..

BAGA: Calangute Police have registered a case against three individuals for allegedly engaging in illegal online betting during the T-20 IPL cricket match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Gujarat Titans on April 22, 2025.The raid was carried out in the early hours between 12:35 AM and 2:45 AM at Flat No. 203, Arsh’s Nest, Saldana Kayle Garden, Baga, Calangute, Bardez. During the operation, police seized one laptop and seven mobile phones valued at approximately ₹1,10,000.The arrested individuals have been identified as Ankit Rathore (34) from Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh; and Badal (32) and Ajay (32), both from Sagar, Madhya Pradesh.Police have booked the accused under Sections 3 and 4 of the Goa, Daman, and Diu Public Gambling Act. The investigation is being conducted under the supervision of PI Paresh Naik and SDPO Vishwesh Karpe, with overall supervision by SP North, Porvorim, Shri Akshat Kaushal, IPS
