Tragedy in Sancoale: Young Woman Found Dead at Residence

SANCOALE: A 21-year-old woman from Sancoale was found dead at her residence on Friday, in a case that police are treating as an apparent suicide.According to Verna Police, the casualty department of Sub-District Hospital (SDH), Chicalim, informed authorities at around 1:13 pm that a young woman, identified as Baby Arjun Rajat, had been brought dead to the hospital.Preliminary inquiries revealed that the woman had reportedly been emotionally distressed over the past few days. Family members and friends told police that she had become withdrawn and was not eating properly.Police said she was found unconscious at her home between 10:14 am and 11:14 am. Friends initially rushed her to a medical facility in Sancoale, from where she was later shifted to SDH Chicalim by a 108 ambulance. Doctors at the hospital declared her brought dead.The body has been kept at the South Goa District Hospital in Margao for post-mortem examination and other medico-legal procedures.Further investigation into the case is being carried out by LPSI Sapna Gawas of Verna Police Station.
