MARGAO: Youth Congress leaders visited the South Goa District Hospital following a reported rise in dengue cases and raised concerns over the facilities available for patients.
The leaders alleged that some dengue patients were being treated on stretchers and on the floor, citing a shortage of beds. They urged Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and the Health Minister to intervene and improve patient arrangements.
Hospital Superintendent Rajendra Borkar confirmed that all available beds are occupied but said patients are continuing to receive treatment and are not being discharged or sent home due to the shortage.
Borkar also appealed to political parties to cooperate with hospital authorities rather than only criticising the existing arrangements.
